Boston-wedding-tips-Blessing

Will you have a blessing on the day of your wedding?  These days some do and some don;t.  30 years ago it seems that almost all wedding receptions had a Blessing before the meal took place.   After the Bride and Groom have their first dance as husband and wife the MC will ask all of the guests to take their seats.  Then, as son as possible the MC will prepare the order of the speeches with the speakers.   Typically it is in this order
1) The Blessing done by the Minister, Priest, JP or if none of those are present then the DJ will do it.
2)  The Bride and groom do their “Thank you for coming speech”   Here is how it goes if the groom says it: “Marysa and I would like to Thank you for coming to our celebration … If you are here in this room, it is because we love you and we wanted you to be here with us on our special day…( pause )Tradition dictates that Marysa and I go table to table and hug every one of you and shake hands with every one of you…  We do intend to do those hand shakes and hugs… except, we will be doing them on the dance floor…so we will look forward to seeing you there. And now please raise your glasses… to the most beautiful woman on Earth !”
3) Maid / Matron of Honor speech / toast.
4)  best Man speech / toast.
I am guessing 30 – 50% of weddings have a blessing

Blessing is after the first dance, before the toasts, before the meal.
Your JP, minister or priest may be happy to do it.
Your DJ is happy to do a short blessing if there is nobody else available to.
You can ask a family member to do it as an honor.
