Justice of the Peace for Doug and Claudia’s Wedding Ceremony.
On Sunday April 14 2019 Curtis Knight was the Justice of the Peace Doug and Claudia’s Wedding Ceremony. The ceremony was held at Doug’s family home in Billerica, Massachusetts. Several family members and friends attended and as a surprise to Curtis, David and Hanna were in attendance and they figured out that Curtis is supplying event services for their upcoming wedding, so that was good for a laugh. The ceremony took place in front of the fireplace, which had a huge TV mounted above it. There was a live video feed to Claudia’s family members, watching along with us, in Brazil. After the short and beautiful ceremony was over, and they had exchanged their wedding vows we all went out into the backyard to capture a few precious memories for the future!

On September 8 2018 Lensay and Andy Gracia held their wedding ceremony at Curtis Knight Entertainment Billerica, Massachusetts, USA in the CKE Chapel. Several friends and family attended and it was a loving ceremony with a bunch of laughs as well. They left for a restaurant and enjoyed the rest of their wedding day. As their justice of the peace I filled out their marriage license, made a copy of it for my file…then I filled out all the information in my Journal of Notorial Acts, as required by law. 3 Ways Being Social Can Help You Cope With Grief

Sooner or later we all experience grief over the loss of someone we love. For most people, the pain is palpable and lasting, but not so disabling that they can’t get out of bed. For some, it is a different matter as 15% of the bereaved population experience complicated grief, an acute form of grieving that persists more than six months after a death. When a person experiences this type of grief, life has no meaning and joy ceases to exist. This condition has been linked to higher incidence of drinking, suicide attempts, and even cancer, that’s why it is important to find ways to heal from a loss. Some of the best ways to do it are by being social, attending parties, and even dancing out your troubles to a DJ’s playlist. All these can help to restore your spirits and promote inner healing as being in a joyous setting with people who care about you can do much to help you cope with grief.
Why it’s difficult to be social when you’re grieving
After a loved one dies, a grieving person may find that it’s difficult to re-enter the social scene. Apart from still feeling the pain of your loss, you may find that you feel disconnected from your friends and relatives, and initiating contact with your loved ones may prove to be daunting. Most people who are in mourning may also feel discomfort around old friends, and vice versa. There’s also the fact that you may not want anyone to bring up your loss in such a public setting. While no one expects you to be the life of the party, being social and attending events such as a wedding or a birthday party can help you cope with grief. Here’s how being social can help you heal from your loss.
It prevents you from becoming isolated
Anyone who is experiencing depression after a loss will often distance himself from family and friends. However, social isolation will not only lead to loneliness, but it can also increase the risk of certain diseases such as diabetes and high blood pressure. Moreover, it increases the risk of death by at least 50%.
You get to meet new people
Meeting new people at a dinner party or at a wedding can distract you from your grief, even for just a short time. Learning about someone else’s interests and hobbies can be helpful and it gets you thinking about the things that you can do that could make you feel better.
You get to reconnect with your loved ones
While it’s typical to think of your deceased loved one during this difficult time, it’s also important to form strong bonds with the people who are still around and who love you unconditionally. Being social can help you reconnect with your relatives and friends who care about you, and you’ll be reminded that no matter how much you’re hurting, you’re not alone in your journey.
If you’ve never attended a social function or event after your loss, start by accepting an invitation to go out for coffee with a few close friends, then as you get more comfortable, perhaps you can attend a dinner party. Once you feel more secure, try attending a friend’s wedding or other special occasions. Coping with loss and grief can be difficult, but don’t forget to live your life and reconnect with the people who love you. Being social is a concrete step towards moving forward and healing from your loss.
Memorial Day Parade In Billerica, MA
Ken Buffum orchestrated yet another moving Memorial Day parade on May 29th, 2017. The event took place in downtown Billerica, MA and brought many in attendance to tears as they remembered the brave men and women who fought to defend and keep democracy alive. Many guest speakers took to the podium to share their words of appreciation and wisdom, including Billerica police detective Peterson, himself a veteran. As the parade moved through the streets, the dozens of participating children through wrapped candy to those in attendance. It was an exceptional event to remember the exceptional men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice.

2017 Council on Aging Sweetheart Dinner Dance, Billerica, MA
The 2017 Sweetheart Dinner Dance was a massive success this year!!! Brought to you by the Billerica Alliance and hosted at the Elks Lodge, we celebrated couples with over 50 years of commitment together. As always, Jeanne Teehan and her team from the Council on Aging ran everything to perfection. Included in attendance were dinner, a commemorative photo, and of course — DANCING!!!
We look forward to celebrating another wonderful Sweetheart Dinner Dance next year with the Council on Aging and, once again, congratulations to all of the couples who demonstrated just what commitment looks like.

Senior Citizen of the Year – Elks Lodge, Billerica, MA
The Senior Citizen of the Year Awards Banquet took place this year on May 12th at the Elks Lodge in Billerica, MA. Everyone enjoyed poignant speeches and gourmet meals as part of the festivities. This years winner, Joan Parcewski, was especially riveting. It’s at events like these that we remember how invaluable our senior members of the community are and how much they contribute to the livelihood of all. To list off just a few of the many wonderful things they do to help us all:
- They are open and giving to local charities
- They share their wisdom learned from years of life
- They babysit our younger members of the community
- They do great volunteer work in big and little ways throughout the year.
- And so much more….

Gina & Moose’s Sparkling New Years Eve Wedding Reception
From Gina… Re: Her New Year’s Eve Amazing Wedding.
Good Morning my friend! I’m just getting a chance now to reach out to you. We got home from Aruba Sunday night and I spent Monday doing, laundry, cleaning toilet bowls, doing errands and attending two wakes…..nothing says welcome back to reality like all that! I came back to work yesterday after not being here for two weeks…..yikes! And just like that, the wedding is over! I can’t thank you enough for everything you and your team did to make our wedding the success it was. People are still talking about it…..AND YOU! I can’t tell you how many private messages, text messages, phone calls, etc. Moose and I have been getting raving about you, about Anna, about Rachel………Mike…..even the photo booth guy……Eamon……people LOVED him! We have been inundated with comments about how professional you all were, how much fun, how the photographer wasn’t intrusive or pushy….I could go on and on and on…………. From the start, I knew what I wanted and even more importantly, I knew what I didn’t want. I wanted a party/a celebration……..I wanted no stuffy structure and for people to eat, drink, dance and have fun all night long….and that they did….because of YOU! Thank you Curtis, from the bottom of my heart for making our wedding a night Moose and I will remember the rest of our lives.
I saw the pictures and I love them. I could never find the appropriate words to thank you. So, I will just say it again….thank you Curtis and Anna, for making our wedding a night to remember. We will never forget you or your kindness.

Saturday, December 31, 2016, Curtis and Anna from CKE were the DJ/MC’s for Gina & Moose’s Sparkling New Years Eve Wedding Reception at Anthony’s in Malden, MA. Curtis was the photographer and Anna was the live photo editor as well as the uplighting technician. Eamon of CKE ran photobooth for guests also. Witnessing the unconditional love these two shared for each other was uplifting and inspiring. You could tell by the way Moose looked into his new bride’s eyes that there is nothing he wouldn’t do for her. These two have the most infectious personalities and this was obvious watching the way their lovely guests reacted to them. After eating a delicious gourmet meal, guests took to the dancefloor and rocked themselves straight into 2017! A fantastic time was had by all! We were so thrilled and tickled to be a part of Gina & Moose’s special day, we had a great time and look forward to seeing your relationship blossom even more over the years! This is a post about a company I found that makes Residential Welcome Mats, Custom Logo Entry Door Mats, Pet Mats, Boat/Boarding Welcome Mats, Sports Logo Front Doormats, Write Your Own Mat, and more. http://www.personalizeddoormats.com/ This is all my opinion and nothing more. I found these folks by searching Google and was cautious because it was a long distance order and if anything went wrong I would simply lose my money. Their reviews and website were very convincing, and put me at ease. Further, when I contacted them, they always responded immediately, or soon thereafter, even when it was 9:00 or 10:00 at night. I was impressed, so I had them do a 4′ x 6′ entrance rug for me. The process was simple and they answered my many, many questions and we settled on a design. They kept me informed of the status all the way through the shipping, and it arrived quickly.
The entire process was under 14 days. If you are hesitating or wondering if you should have rugs with your brand on them, do not. You should. And this is a company that does great work, fast and at a competitive price. I shopped price and they are right at the sweet spot where quality meets good investment of funds. I recommend them completely. Also, I waited 3 months before sending in this review, because I wanted to be sure the rug I ordered would not fall apart or wear unevenly.
