Reuben and Andrea’s Wedding at TCC

Saturday, April 11, 2015, Reuben and Andrea had their wedding reception at the Tewksbury Country Club http://www.tewksburycc.com/. Curtis and Anna, the owners of Curtis Knight Entertainment, were honored to be the DJ/MCs for this amazing wedding. There was tons of singing, dancing and excitement the entire night – not a single dull moment! Curtis took photos during the night which were displayed on the flat screen TV Curtis brings to every event he shoots photos at. Alexis edited the pictures as Curtis took them and she also manned the video camera on the balcony in the Tewksbury Country Club looking down on all the guests! Some really incredible moments were captured on video and with the still photos as well. The photos that Curtis takes are an added bonus to the Curtis and Anna DJ Duo package http://curtisknight.com/meet-the-team/meet-our-djs/dj-duo-curtis-anna/ Here is their full Facebook album!

Headshots for Women In Business, Billerica, MA

Billerica, MA April 9, 2015

Curtis Knight was chosen by the Billerica Alliance to be the photographer for head shots at the Women in Business Luncheon! This luncheon was held at Stelio’s Restaurant in North Billerica, 293 Boston Road.  During the meeting, several entrepreneurs from Billerica each took a turn speaking about their businesses and wonderful things happening in the town of Billerica. Curtis set up a backdrop system on uprights and used a center key light and two external off camera flashes to create a flattering headshot of each of the women attending. The photos from this function are shown in this Facebook album and they were all sent to the executive director of the Billerica Alliance! The Billerica Alliance is located at 12 Andover road suite 1 right here in Billerica, MA. www.billerica-alliance.org.

Top songs from 2014  |  Top special wedding songs  |  Top special dances songs  |  Top songs by decade
Choosing your wedding music (or not choosing it) is one of the most important decisions you will make regarding your wedding celebration. At CKE, we encourage you to choose the music for your special dances: (i.e father/daughter, mother/son, bouquet/garter etc.) but when the dance floor opens, we recommend that you offer loose guidelines rather than specific songs. The amount of dancing time once floor opens is usually around 2-3 hours. This is typically about 40 songs. If there are certain songs you absolutely know will make a large percentage of your guests excited, then by all means let your DJ/MC know! Other than that, we strongly urge that you leave it to your DJ/MC to feel the electricity and sense the mood. The basic rule of thumb is to start at lowest volume, oldest music and then, over the length of your dance segment gradually raise the volume and move through the decades. So, we begin with 50’s/60’s, groove through the 70’s disco, Motown, funk, rock into the 80’s, cruise through the 90’s, and then we wind up playing music that is current today. In terms of current music, your best guarantee is current music that is 6 months to 2 years old. If you play completely current, like one or two months new, this will appeal to only a small segment of your attending guests! The art form for every DJ is to know how long to spend in each decade. Don’t hesitate to call us for more detailed information! 978-667-8910

Surprise Party for Lou! March 21, 2015

Saturday, March 21, 2015, Tania threw a surprise party for her boyfriend, Lou! Lou was in total shock when he walked through the doors of the private room at the Tuscan Kitchen in Burlington, MA. His reaction was priceless, he had no idea! Dozens of his friends and family were gathered to celebrate his 50th birthday with him. Some traveled quite a ways to attend and celebrate with Lou. Curtis and Anna provided the entertainment for the evening. Curtis and Anna were the DJ/MCs and Curtis also shot photos the entire night while Alexis edited them on the fly and created a live slideshow for everyone to marvel over. Moments after Lou walked through the doors, the pictures were uploaded wirelessly to the screen for everyone to see (: Anna brought a few uplights, just for some added ambience. There were games and great music for everyone! Everyone had a blast and the food was incredible. Check out the Tuscan Kitchen over in Burlington, MA. GREAT party!!!

Expenses: Couples spent an average of $31,213 on their wedding day.

According to an article in CNN Money The walk down the aisle continues to get more expensive.  Expenses: Couples spent an average of $31,213 on their big day last year, according to latest study from The Knot, up more than 4% from $29,858 in 2013. The venue eats up the biggest portion of the budget with an average of $14,006, followed by the engagement ring at $5,855 and the band at $3,587. The average catering price per guest rang up at $68 in 2014.

See average wedding costs in your area

Couples may be spending more on their weddings, but guests have reduced their gift spending recently.

This year, an attendee will spend an average of $106 on a gift, according to research from American Express Spending & Saving Tracker. That’s less than 2014 average of $109.

Gifts also depend on the guest’s relationship to the couple. Invitees will spend an average of $142 on family, and $90 for friends and colleagues, according to American Express.

One third of guests plan to gift cash to the newlyweds while 32% will pick something off the registry. Gift cards, non-registry gifts, money for the honeymoom or a donation also made the gift-giving list.

Guests can expect more personalized ceremonies and receptions.

“[Couples] are looking for ways large and small to make their wedding their own,” said Lauren Iannotti, executive editor at Brides magazine. “Oftentimes, that means re-inventing things.”

She said some couples are hiring artists to paint a custom backdrop for the ceremony or reception or a local artist to “live paint” the party. And there’s a new metal infiltrating the wedding scene. “Wedding markets are often affected by the home market, and the copper craze in homes, we are now seeing in weddings.”

Wedding cakes are also getting upgraded. It’s not enough for the outside to look good. “Creative cake interiors are something we are seeing,” said Iannotti. “Ombre insides or something artful underneath the frosting.”

But as couples strive to create a bespoke wedding day, that doesn’t mean they don’t want to share the special moments with the world. According to Kim Forrest, editor at WeddingWire, couples are hiring social media consultants to make sure photos are getting up and tagged properly.

At CKE we post your photos and handle that aspect of your social media.  Just say the word.
