Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 22, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Curtis Knight Entertainment ("we," "us") collects, uses, and protects the information you provide when you use our website at curtisknight.com or when you book entertainment services with us.
Information We Collect
Information you give us directly
When you contact us, request a quote, or book one of our services (DJ, photo booth, photography/videography, justice of the peace, notary), we collect:
- Your name and your event partner's name (where applicable)
- Your email address and phone number
- Event details — date, venue, type of event, services you're interested in, expected guest count, special requests
- Billing information if you purchase a package directly (payment details are processed by Stripe; we don't store credit card numbers ourselves)
- Any messages or notes you choose to send us
Information collected automatically
When you visit our site, we and our service providers automatically collect:
- Your IP address and approximate location
- Your browser type and operating system
- Pages viewed, time on site, navigation patterns
- Referring site or search term
- Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see "Cookies & Tracking" below)
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to inquiries and provide quotes
- Book and deliver the entertainment services you've contracted
- Coordinate with our DJs, photographers, JPs, and event partners assigned to your event
- Process payments via Stripe
- Send event confirmations, reminders, and follow-up
- Send occasional updates or promotions if you opted in — you can unsubscribe at any time
- Display event photos in our blog and portfolio (with prior permission for identifiable people)
- Improve our website and services
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information.
Event Photography & Video
At many events we work, photographs and video are captured. When the photos involve identifiable clients or guests and we want to use them on our website, social media, or blog, we obtain permission from the client first. If you've previously appeared in our portfolio and would like that content removed, contact us and we'll do so promptly.
Service Providers We Use
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) — hosts our website, database, and email-sending infrastructure
- Stripe — processes payments when you purchase a package directly; Stripe handles all credit card data under its own security and privacy practices
- Google Analytics — measures website traffic (no personally identifying information sent)
- Facebook (Meta) Pixel — measures the effectiveness of Facebook and Instagram advertising
- tawk.to — powers the live chat widget
- Microsoft 365 — hosts our email; messages you send us are processed through Microsoft's email service
- Sub-contracted DJs, photographers, JPs, and notaries — we share event details with the specific people working your event so they can deliver the service
- YouTube / Vimeo — used to embed promotional and testimonial videos on the site
Payments
When you purchase a package directly through the site, payment is processed by Stripe. Stripe collects and stores credit card details under its own security and privacy practices (see stripe.com/privacy). We receive a record of the transaction (amount, date, items, last 4 digits of card) but do not store full card numbers.
Cookies & Tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies to:
- Required cookies — keep your cart contents, remember preferences, basic site functionality
- Analytics cookies — Google Analytics measures how visitors use the site
- Advertising cookies — Facebook Pixel measures whether Facebook ads led to bookings
When you first visit, we show a banner asking your preference. You can change it any time using the link in the site footer. You can also disable cookies entirely in your browser settings; some site features (notably the cart and checkout) may not work normally if you do.
How We Protect Your Information
Information you submit is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections, stored in encrypted databases at AWS, and accessed only by Curtis Knight and authorized staff. Payment processing is handled by Stripe under its own security practices — we don't store credit card information ourselves.
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We can't guarantee absolute security and don't promise it.
How Long We Keep Your Information
We keep event records and customer information for as long as you're a client, plus a reasonable period afterward (typically 5-7 years) to support repeat bookings, referrals, and tax/legal recordkeeping. Newsletter subscribers are kept until they unsubscribe.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Ask what personal information we have about you
- Ask us to correct or update it
- Ask us to delete it (subject to legal recordkeeping requirements)
- Opt out of marketing emails at any time
- Request removal from our portfolio or social media
- Change your cookie preferences using the footer link
To exercise any of these rights, email us at curtis@curtisknight.com or call 978-590-5910.
Children's Privacy
Our site is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. Photos of minors taken at events are only used with parental or client permission.
